When I started writing, I chose to call this blog, \u201cMaya\u2019s Gifts.\u201d \u00a0Here is a little excerpt from the \u201cAbout\u201d page:<\/p>\n

Maya\u2019s life was a gift.\u00a0 I believe the saying that there is no loss greater than that of a child.\u00a0 I am living with this loss, deeply.\u00a0 It is one that I never wish on anyone.\u00a0 And as the days and weeks go on, I continue to uncover gifts that I\u2019m learning from Maya; even after her passing.<\/em><\/p>\n

It has been just over two years.\u00a0 Kind people of Consumer Reports approached us.\u00a0 My first response was, \u201cwhy us?\u201d\u00a0 With the weather turning, they were in the process of doing an issue on Cold and Flu Season.\u00a0 They were interested in including a personal story addressing the negative effects of DXM medications and were led to Mathew and me.\u00a0 My response most often is, \u201cyes!\u201d\u00a0 So, of course we would participate.<\/p>\n

The process of sharing our story was challenging.\u00a0 It occurred over several weeks; an initial interview, a follow up interview, follow up email and then a fact checking session.\u00a0 The article is full of information that I did not know.\u00a0 I imagine most of it is new to you, too.\u00a0 Please read the article as it is a part of Maya\u2019s story.\u00a0 Please share it with others, as it may be another sort of gift.<\/a><\/p>\n
