I had been intentionally not making calls from the blue tooth in my car, as in \u201cHistory\u201d, Maya\u2019s name and number still appeared. On some level, seeing \u201cMaya\u201d appear there, as I\u2019d scroll through the calls, gave me the illusion that I\u2019ve spoken with Maya recently.\u00a0 It\u2019s been comforting.<\/p>\n

It was the same impulse inside of me that jumped when Mathew was taking the ratatouille out of the freezer to have for dinner. \u201cNO!\u201d\u00a0 That was leftovers from one of the last meals Maya and I ate together.\u00a0 I can hear her teasing me, \u201cMom, I know.\u00a0 It\u2019s from the CSA vegetables.\u00a0 All I hear is, \u2018CSA, CSA\u2019, are you infatuated with that CSA?\u201d\u00a0 She loved to tease.\u00a0 Well that night (Mathew was out of town, and of course, Adin away at school); Maya had the idea of having the ratatouille, while watching \u201cRatatouille\u201d in bed.\u00a0 Great idea; Macabee joined us too.\u00a0 I loved the meal, the movie, and being under the covers.\u00a0 Mother and daughter, like two little kids.\u00a0 There were some movies we\u2019d never tire of.\u00a0 It was a great night.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure when I\u2019ll be eating that leftover ratatouille with vegetables from our local CSA, but I\u2019m sure it will be a time mixed with tears. Tears too, rolled this evening, as I checked my call history, and Maya\u2019s name was not there.\u00a0 Where did it go?\u00a0 I want it back.\u00a0 I want her back.\u00a0 I miss her so.\u00a0 It\u2019s so painful\u2026I miss our precious Maya so.<\/p>\n
