Dear Maya,<\/p>\n

On about February 13, you asked me, \u201cwhat if a boy asked me out?\u201d You were wondering about whether or not you\u2019d have my permission to go out.\u00a0 I of course said, \u201cYes.\u201d\u00a0 You thought that you\u2019d be asked out for Valentine\u2019s Day.\u00a0 As it turns out, Valentine\u2019s Day was a \u201csnow day\u201d.\u00a0 There was no school.\u00a0 The potential \u201cask out\u201d came and went.\u00a0 I mentioned this yesterday and you thought the \u201cask out\u2019 might occur today.\u00a0 You again asked for my permission.\u00a0 I said, \u201cYes, because you know karate.\u201d\u00a0 This gave us both a chuckle.\u00a0 We talked about being safe and asserting yourself.\u00a0 I also wanted to be sure that I knew where you were.<\/p>\n

At about 3:30, I received a text from you, \u201cat Manny\u2019s with the guy.\u201d Woo hoo!\u00a0 You walked around town with Matt and since then, you\u2019ve been quite happy.\u00a0 During your time together, he asked you if you wanted to be his girlfriend.\u00a0 Your answer was, \u201cYes.\u201d\u00a0 Okay Maya!\u00a0 Welcome to a new chapter of Maya\u2019s life journal.\u00a0 Congratulations and mazel tov.\u00a0 I\u2019m so happy for you.<\/p>\n
