When I called Amy, Matt\u2019s mom, to ask for permission to post the story from the seeds of Matt and Maya\u2019s relationship, she shared the following story with me. Thank you Amy, for allowing me to share it with others.<\/em><\/p>\n

Elise and Mathew I would like you to hear of the gift Maya gave twice.<\/p>\n

While Maya and Matt were seeing each other she gave him a gift. It was a simple wooden bracelet she brought home from India for him. \u00a0Matt wore the bracelet all the time while they were a couple but when that relationship ended I stopped seeing it on his wrist. \u00a0However, it reappeared, Matt and Maya reconnected and had formed a different relationship, a true friendship.<\/p>\n

After Maya\u2019s death I mentioned the bracelet to Matt. He informed me that he had lost it over the summer while outside at a friend\u2019s house. \u00a0That it had flung off his wrist and landed in a bunch of weeds and bushes. \u00a0Matt looked and looked but could not find it\u2026 it was gone.<\/p>\n

Knowing what that bracelet meant to Matt, I was saddened to know it was gone. I decided to go and find it. \u00a0I contacted my friend, (the mother of Matt\u2019s friend) to let her know I was planning on stopping at her house in the morning to search for the bracelet. \u00a0It was cold and rainy as I pulled up to the house at 8a.m.\u00a0 I surveyed the area and realized this might be an impossible task. \u00a0As I began digging through the fallen leaves and over grown bushes I realized my hopes of bringing home the bracelet to Matt were somewhat unrealistic.<\/p>\n

My searched continued for about an hour and I began to get discouraged. I stood up leaned against my car, looked at the sky and said, \u201cMaya please help me find the bracelet\u201d. \u00a0With a deep sigh I bent down to begin searching again. \u00a0I reached, turned over some leaves and there it was! \u00a0The bracelet, right there, just waiting for me to find it. \u00a0I cannot explain the emotions I felt as I picked up that bracelet.<\/p>\n

I truly believe, I asked Maya for help and she answered me. I had overturned those leaves multiple times and never saw it. \u00a0Maya opened my eyes, which allowed me to find the bracelet. \u00a0By opening my eyes, Maya was able to give the gift for a second time. \u00a0A gift Matt cherishes.<\/p>\n
