Happy New Year, sweet one!<\/p>\n

We\u2019re back from Quebec. You and Macabee are inseparable!\u00a0 Yesterday, the only time you were without him was when I told you that he could not come up to the attic with us, as he might get fiberglass on him.\u00a0 You and I were doing some sorting of seasonal clothes.<\/p>\n

At one point, you were up and I was on the ladder (the second rung from the bottom). I slipped and banged my arm on Adin\u2019s doorway REALLY hard.\u00a0 It hurt so much.\u00a0 I let out a big, \u201cOW!\u201d, and then continued to moan.\u00a0 You immediately responded, \u201cShould I get some ice?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cNo thanks, I just need to moan for a while\u201d\u2026 (which I did).<\/p>\n

You weren\u2019t quite sure how to comfort me. Then you came up with a pearl.\u00a0 \u201cMommy, I wish I was the one that got hurt.\u201d\u00a0 I was touched and appreciated you for this; how selfless and kind.\u00a0 Then you added, \u201cBecause grown-ups are better at taking care of kids.\u201d\u00a0 What a compassionate sweetie you are!<\/p>\n
