\u201cIt\u2019s going to be alright.\u00a0 Everything is going to be okay.\u201d\u00a0 Those words were the anchor of my life.\u00a0 I used to joke that my glass was not half full.\u00a0 It was three quarters full.\u00a0 In my family of origin, we had a pessimist and a realist.\u00a0 I was the optimist.\u00a0 Always.<\/p>\n

Perhaps when reading my last post, \u201cFaith\u201d, a story from 10 years ago, you wondered if things have changed for me. \u00a0One dear friend asked me, \u201cElise, do you still have faith?\u201d \u00a0On October 2, 2015, the foundation on which I stood, crumbled.\u00a0 Can I imagine that, \u201ceverything is going to be okay\u201d ever again?\u00a0 Right now, I cannot answer that question. \u00a0If Maya only had known those words.\u00a0 There are so many \u201cif only\u2019s\u201d that I ponder.<\/span><\/p>\n

As time goes on, I may redefine what \u201cfaith\u201d means to me.\u00a0 I am aware that each morning, I wake up.\u00a0 My first thoughts are with Maya.\u00a0 I gaze out the window and eventually, put my feet on the ground.<\/p>\n
