Dear Maya,<\/p>\n

On the fourth of July, Adin asked Mathew about the holiday.\u00a0 Mathew explained about independence.\u00a0 He talked about the settlers and King George.\u00a0 He read portions of the Declaration of Independence.\u00a0 You were listening attentively, but I was certain that most of what Mathew shared went over your 3 \u00bd year old head.<\/p>\n

Later that week, Adin asked Mathew about why he chose to leave his recent job.\u00a0 Mathew started talking about his superintendent, and how unfairly he treated people that worked in the school district.\u00a0 At that moment, you piped up, \u201csort of like King George!\u201d<\/p>\n

I am still shocked!\u00a0 Not only did you listen, but you truly understood\u2026so much so that you were able to recall and apply what you learned to another appropriate situation.\u00a0 You amaze me.\u00a0 I know that I\u2019m not objective, but I think that was rather brilliant for a 3 \u00bd year old!<\/p>\n
