As I look for a stone to be the marker at Maya’s grave-site, I listen for one to speak to me.
It seems so important to get this right, to find the perfect stone.
Here, in the woods, where Maya was conceived, she was born, lived her life and took her life
There is no such thing as the perfect stone. How can there be?
Maya at age six, in these woods.

xoxoxo This took my breath away.
I have beautiful rocks that my mother collected during our family vacations …at Cape Cod ….they are very lovely.. She really thought before she chose them… Once you have your place for Maya… I would be honored if I could send you some to place on her resting place …..
What a kind offer. Thank you, Anne!
there is no stone that could encompass all of Maya,
but Maya encompasses the woods, the mountains, the earth,
the streams, and all our hearts.
Thank you Maya for being your beautiful self so we could know you.
How true, Leslie, how true.
No perfect stone, but there will be a right one. And it will be right because it was chosen at this time by hearts full of love and devotion.
Deborah,
Deep thanks for expressing this! These have been my sentiments, too. No perfect stone, but really, any one we choose will be right. Thank you again.
I love you.
